Volunteering Opportunities

There are many opportunities to get involved in environmental work at BEAT where you can really make a difference. We have many different projects offering many different types of work from practical conservation to helping to write funding bids or designing and producing promotional materials.

Current Opportunities

(unpaid – out of pocket expenses reimbursed)

Bradford Environmental Action Trust was established in 1997. Our mission is to work towards a healthy, sustainable environment which improves the quality of life for all people in the Bradford District. Over the last 10 years we have delivered a number of successful projects to promote sustainable waste and conservation that all help to combat climate change.

We wish to recruit people to join our board to become trustees of the charity and directors of the company.

The board ensures effective management and leadership of the organisation in furtherance of the charity’s objects.

You will need to be responsible, able to commit your time, have strategic vision, an ability to think creatively, a willingness to speak your mind and an understanding of environmental issues.

Ideally, you will have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

ð       experience of environmental projects >
ð       the voluntary sector
ð       marketing
ð       human resource and employment law
ð       legal matters
ð       financial management
ð       business/project development
ð       social enterprises
ð       consultancy
ð       e-commerce

Trustees will receive an induction and training. Board meetings are held monthly, usually on the first Wednesday of every month between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

We are particularly keen to recruit a more diverse board of trustees, and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.
